Why did you choose criminal defense?

I became a criminal defense attorney because I wanted to make a meaningful, positive difference in someone's life. In the criminal courtroom the stakes cannot be any higher. As the child of two members of law enforcement, growing up I had a front row seat to the long-lasting impact the criminal justice system could have in a person's life. I wanted to do what I could to correct the injustice found within the court system and help those who needed it the most. After graduating law school, I became a defense attorney in the 18th Judicial Circuit where I was constantly trying cases and arguing motions. I was in the courtroom nearly every day aggressively fighting for my clients. I learned that regardless of the case, hard work and tenacity makes a huge difference in how it resolves. I learned to never give up the fight, no matter how daunting the odds may seem. I encourage you to contact me and learn how I can put my extensive criminal trial experience to work for you.

Where did you go to school?

I graduated law school from Stetson University College of Law, which is ranked number one in the nation for trial advocacy by U.S. News & World Report. I always knew I wanted to litigate cases in the courtroom so while attending Stetson Law I focused my curriculum on courses specifically involving litigation and trial skills. I was also selected to become a Stetson Law Ambassador where I mentored new law students and represented the law school during both on and off campus activities. In addition, I was a judicial clerk for the Honorable Pamela A.M. Campbell of the Sixth Judicial Circuit. After completing my judicial clerkship, I worked as a law clerk focused on pretrial and trial litigation.

Prior to law school, I attended the University of Central Florida on full scholarship majoring in Legal Studies after graduating early from Brevard Community College with my Associate of Arts degree. While attending UCF full-time, I learned how invaluable a good worth ethic can be by working two jobs to support myself.

What made you choose to become a lawyer?

Law school for me was the perfect combination of my interests and the perfect outlet for my competitive nature. Growing up I was always drawn to the legal profession. Attorneys, more than anyone else, have a real opportunity to change the course of someone's life. I decided then, at only eight years old, the law was my calling. I stuck with it ever since. Being a criminal defense lawyer puts me in the unique position to stand with someone when they are quite possibly at their lowest point in life. My job is to help them through it so that it has the least amount of impact on their life going forward. I make problems disappear.
